Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express has been stranded since early Saturday morning with around 700 passengers on board after heavy rains flooded the tracks. The train has been held up since 3 am between Badlapur and Vangani in Maharashtra, which is 100 kilometres away from Mumbai, a passenger on board said. A Central Railways officer said 700 passengers were on-board the train. However, intial reports claimed around 2,000 passengers were stranded. 3:15 PM: A special train with 19 coaches will leave from Kalyan to Kolhapur with the passengers of the stalled Mahalaxmi Express train.
